The Second World “Global Village” and International Shopping Festival

With the great support of every relative aspect, the first World Global Village and International Shopping Festival was held on time during golden week in October, 2007 and has achieved great success, meanwhile it was well received by every country’s participants and tourists. Although there were not too many participants in the first festival due to the bad weather, the Zimbabwean arts & crafts, Greek olive oil were well received by Chinese tourists and also received favorable comments from them.
Based on the experiences of the first World Global Village and International Shopping Festival, the Second World Global Village and International Shopping Festival is planned to be held during Oct. 1st-7th, 2008 in Amusement Park, Tianjin, China.

(Ⅰ). Goal and Significance:

This is an international business campaign to promote various characteristic commodities of different countries in multi-national forms. Through the World Global Village and International Shopping Festival you can sell the distinctive commodities produced by various exhibiting countries or regions, attract the close attention of Chinese commercialists and consumers, and open an windows for Chinese people understanding overseas markets as well.

(Ⅲ).Time:

The Second World Global Village and International Shopping Festival will be unveiled on Oct. 1st, 2008 and it will last for 7 days, and it is just in time for the golden week, when most working people will take a vocation and travel around. So it is a perfect opportunity for the businessmen to sell their goods.


(IV).Venue:

The place where the Second World Global Village and International Shopping Festival will be held is Tianjin Amusement Park, locating in the golden section of Tianjin, during the festival, there will be hundreds of thousands of tourists present in the park, at that time, the Amusement Park will be the focus of every field attention.

(V).Contents:

1. Recommendation of various country’s featured commodities:

The purpose of display tables set up in the second world village and international shopping festival, is mainly to sell international presents, arts & crafts and its distinctive products. So they will provide the participants with an excellent platform for promotion, sale, publicity and display, as well as the most convenient marketing channel for the exhibiting countries’ commodities, entering directly to Chinese principal consuming market and it will play a significant and positive role to open up China’s domestic market.

2. The taste of delicious food.
Various Country’s participants can transmit the their countries’ profound dietetic cultures to the tourists through the distinctive foods, beverages and various styles of snacks made on the spot and let the tourist have a good gourmet’s luck.

(VI). The exhibition zone decorating and expenses concerned:

1. Exhibiting zone: the open area of Tianjin Amusement Park.

2. The exhibit area decorating:
For the consideration and convenience of every exhibiting countries, the organizing committee of the World Global Village and International Shopping Festival decided to
to put up the stands(stands area, 36㎡/pc.) for the participants, so that every exhibiting counties can storing and displaying the commodities there.

3. Concerning charge and facilities:

Booth fee:150$/9㎡/ 7 days; 350$/36㎡/7days
Facilities: 4 exhibit tables, 8 chairs, water, and electricity

4. Concerning service:

(1) The free service provided by organizing committee: storing, contacting logistics, and safeguard, etc.

(2) Paid service: hiring the interpreter, hiring the temporary members of the staff, reserving hotel, reserving air ticket or train ticket, renting the refrigerators or ice box, renting the facilities excepting the free items.

5. Suggestions:

The participants can arrange the working people by themselves.
The participants could select the choice originating commodities of their own country for display and sell them within the exhibiting area, according to the experiences last year our suggestion is to select the commodities which are at a moderate price.

(VII). Benefits analyzing

1. The society benefit:

Tianjin is a municipality of China, as well as an important port city of north China and an economic and cultural center. Tianjin plays a strong radiating and leading role in the economic developing of the surrounding regions. Tianjin has a large population of over 10 million, and it is a potential huge consuming market, the participants’ originating commodities could take Tianjin as the base market first and then make promotion comprehensively, and finally open up a new prospect continuously in the surrounding regions. Therefore, Tianjin will provide a wider business channel for the participants’ commodities.

2. The economic benefit:

During the seven days of World Global Village and International Shopping Festival, the Amusement Park will receive thousands of visitors, tourists through a series of publishing methods, the 7 days of commodities displaying and selling will definitely end up with a good selling volume and bring good benefit to the participants.

Part one Brief introduction

9. Communications: exhibitors can reach at Amusement Park by following methods:
Item 1 by intercity train: from Beijing to Tianjin about 70-90 minutes;
Item 2 by coach: from Beijing to Tianjin about 150 minutes;
Item 3 by drive: from Beijing to Tianjin about 2 hours;
Item 4 by taxi: the elementary price (for the first two Km) is RMB₣8.00, then is RMB₣1.80 for each Km.
Item 5 by bus: Nos. 4, 47, 48, 619, 632, 641, 662, 668, 675, 686, 800, 846, 857, 859, 868, 912 all of these buses, have stop around Tianjin Amusement Park.
Item 6 freight: it is 6 Km, from railway station to pavilion, 20Km from airport, and 50Km from seaport.
10. Climate: the climate of Tianjin is temperate zone continental climate, the average temperature in Oct. is 18℃, this time just is the golden Autumn Season.
11. Currency: Renminbi is the currency in China, foreign currency can be exchanged for RMB in every bank networks. Bank of China and ATM marked “union pay”, will offer the service drawing cash from credit cards.

Chapter 1 Certificate Service

“Second ‘ world village’ and International Shopping Festival” established “Certificate Service Centre”, to offer service issuing certificates for exhibitors.

2. Type of certificates and issuing criterion:
Item 1. Exhibitor Badge—for entry of exhibitors or their business representatives. (Exhibition badge is also valid during the periods of stand constructing and dismantling both)
Issuing criterion: every stand can apply 3 pcs. Exhibitor badge (free) . Please fill in Appendix B-1.
Item 2. Parking permit—for entry of exhibitors’ vehicles, during the periods of exhibition, stand constructing, dismantling.
Issuing criterion: every stand can apply parking permit 2 pcs. (free). Please fill in Appendix B-2.
3. Application time: 9:00—17:00 every day from Sept.30th – Oct.1st, 2008
4. Application method:
Item 1. applying exhibitor badge, parking permit, please submit application to organizing committee before Sept. 10th ,2008 to organizing committee by e-mail or fax, or sending special person to application site.
Item 2. after all exhibition charges paid, exhibitors can handle every certificates applying.
Item 3. data for application:
① Copy of passport (or ID card)
② One pc. recent colour photo (40mm*50mm)
③ Please fill in forms concerned.

Chapter two Stand decorating and on – site service on site

On the site, shopping festival established service centre, this centre included exhibition tent building, assembly hall decorating, service advisory, on- site service, storage and logistics etc. groups, to provide convenient, prompt application service and on- site service concerning exhibition items.
Servicing place: service centre of international shopping festival is in the front of Tianjin Amusement Park.
Servicing time: 8:30—17:30 every day from Sept. 30th – Oct.8th,2008
1. The basic facilities of stand:
① Exhibition tent: 36 sq.m
② Fascia with Chinese – English
③ 2 directional brackets (40W*2)
④ One power socket(220V,50Hz)
⑤ 4 exhibiting and selling tables, 8 chairs.
2. Exhibition equipments renting service: except basic facilities, if exhibitors need further equipment, please apply to service centre and fill in Appendix B-3, please refer to the rental price list of equipment renting (Appendix form A-2)
3. Exhibitors should submit one pc. sample for each exhibits to service centre for inspection one week before shopping festival opening, and fill in Appendix B-4.
The quality of commodity sold in shopping festival should be same with the quality of submitted samples. To stop the intellectual property right infringing and imitations, stop expired products, poisonous harmful commodities and commodity which is not good to peoples’ health, especially foodstuffs, medicine, beverage etc. and other nasty commodities.

Chapter three Hotel reservation service

1. For convenient exhibitors’ lodgings, organizing committee especially selected some near hotel with medium price and convenient traffic, the most near distance only 10 minutes walking. The service centre can offer reservation service. Please fill in Appendix B-7.
2. Service centre reserves room free for exhibitors.
3. About hotel charges , please refer to Appendix A-3.

Chapter four Storage, logistics and other service

1. Service centre has small size warehouse for exhibitors use temporarily, if exhibitors need. Please fill in Appendix B-5.
2. Service centre can assist exhibitors hire interpreter, shopping guide, porter etc. for concerning charge, please refer to Appendix A-4, if exhibitors need, please fill in Appendix B-6.
3. Service centre will release the traffic sketch from airport, railway station, expressway outlet to Amusement Park, for exhibitors’ reference, please refer to Appendix A-5.

Part three Provisions and Regulations

Chapter one Regulations of safety and fire – prevention

To ensure the order and safety of shopping festival and avoid various safety accidents and illegal events, in accordance with Fire- prevention Laws of P. R. China, Chinese Customs Supervision Regulations and relevant Laws and Regulations of Social Security administration the following safety and fire – prevention provisions have been formulated which shall be strictly abided by all exhibitors.
1. The exhibitors shall reinforce and enhance the safety and fire – prevention awareness, and cooperate with the fire – prevention and security sectors to maintain shopping festival good order and safety.
2. The exhibitors shall notify and restrict his participants to strictly comply with the Laws and regulations of people’s Republic of China without conducting any illegal activities during the course of shopping festival.
3. The exhibitors shall only be allowed to enter the exhibition hall with a valid badge, and such badge shall only be used by the owner and not be allowed to be transferred to any other people or sold out or revised.
4. The exhibitors shall pay special attention to guarding against theft and safekeeping their personal prosperities (including laptops and exhibits).
5. The exhibitors shall not be allowed bring inflammable, explosive, poisonous, and harmful articles into exhibition tent.
6. Except for specified places, smoking shall be forbidden in exhibition tent.
7. The fire – prevention aisles shall be accessible under any circumstances.
8. Collocation and arrangement of the exhibits shall be stable and safe, during demonstration or other promotion activities, exhibitors shall be in considerations of safety and good order without any potential dangerous outcomes or disturbance to the visitors and any third parties.
9. All exhibits and inflammable articles shall be located at a minimum space of 30 cm away from the lightings in the stand or other heating electronic apparatus.
10. High decibel acoustic shall not be used for any kinds of demonstrations. The decibel of demonstration shall be strictly limited to a scale below 70.
11. The exhibitors shall pay special attention to safety in electricity usage and shall not utilize any unqualified or malfunction electric devices or violate rules during operation. Utilization of electric water jug, cooker, and iron in the stand shall firstly gain approval from shopping festival by submitting to shopping festival a written application form.
12. Stand electricity consumed shall be applied as per actual situation without permission or instruction from the electrician of shopping festival, the exhibitors shall not introduce from or connect to the electricity distributor or sockets inside the exhibition area.
13. In case of falling off of the spotlights, the exhibitors shall notify the service centre of shopping festival immediately, so as to enable shopping festival to arrange an electrician to site for remedy, to avoid burning lamps and lanterns or damage exhibits.
14. All constructional tools, surplus, constructional and packing material and accessories shall be cleared out of exhibition hall prior to closure and shall not be stored in the stand or any spaces behind (or beside) the stand, in case of any temporary storage, please contact service centre.
15. The exhibitors shall cooperate with the guards at site to carry out clearance work during the course of exhibition.

Chapter two Code of conduct for participation

1. All activities of exhibitors including exhibition, display, sales, demonstration, distribution of product promotional material or gifts shall have be carried out only within the stipulations of 《Participation Agreement》without disturbing the neighboring exhibitors or the orders of shopping festival.
2. The exhibitor shall instruct and restrict his participants to behave themselves in the exhibition.
① No photographing or recording of exhibits on other stand shall be allowed without others’ permission.
② No pilferage of exhibits of other exhibitors.
③ No disturbance to the visitors or other exhibitors.
④ Obey to and cooperate with the on –site managing persons’ management.
⑤ No damage to any movable or fixed facilities within the exhibition area.
⑥ No drilling, or sticking shall be allowed on the wall in exhibition tent.
3. Shopping festival shall make overall arrangement for the clearness, the exhibitors should clear the rubbish in their stands, and keep the rubbish in the trash bins which shall then be settled by sanitation workers.
4. To ensure safety of exhibitors, their personal properties and exhibits if unusualness found, the exhibitors’ immediate reports are requested.
